Camp Activity Leader

We are currently seeking Activity Leaders for a one-week position July 15th-22nd, 2023 and or July 22nd-29th, 2023, including 1-2 days of training in late June, 2023.
Camp Activity Leader Job Description
Ensure a group of assigned campers are supervised and safe at all times
Responsible for the well-being of campers 24-hours a day
Supervising, and participating in camp programming activities with all campers
Leading planned camp activities assigned by camp directors
Residing with up to 6 campers in individual cabins
Responsible for taking roll call of assigned cabin at wake up and lights out
Responsible for taking roll call before and after classes, workshops, and activities
Assist with the set up/sanitize/clean up class, workshop, and activity spaces
Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipment
Working cooperatively with other activity leaders, Camp Cue directors, teachers and guest artists
Perform all responsibilities in a manner that guarantees to the safety of all campers
Reporting and recording details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations to Camp Directors
Memorizing all emergency procedures and enforcing camp rules
Assisting with mealtime preparation and clean up
Camp Activity Leader Job Requirements
Experience working with youth.
Must be 19 and over and legally able to work in Canada
Experience in training or performing in a performing arts discipline (ie, theatre, musical theatre, dance, puppetry, devised theatre, mask work, playwriting, music, etc)
Ability to work well with teenaged campers with compassion and structure
Ability to communicate effectively with other activity leaders, staff, and campers
Ability to motivate others toward learning new skills
Ability to demonstrate responsible, ethical, and professional conduct
Ability to provide support and instruction to others
Ability to swim
Commitment to anti-oppressive, anti-racist and anti-homophobic language and leadership
Commitment to leading and aligning with the values of Camp Cue
Leaders must be comfortable travelling by boat, and be available for the entirety of the camp
Leaders must be available for pre-camp training sessions as needed which is inclusive of the outlined fee
Assets include:
First Aid and Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
Experience working in a camp environment
Ability to speak multiple languages
Experience working with and creating safe spaces for trans & non-binary youth
Camp Activity Leader Training Requirements
All Camp Cue Activity Leaders will participate in a camp training session
All Camp Cue Activity Leaders must complete a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
Some Activity Leaders may be required to complete First Aid Training
Camp Activity Leader Compensation
Activity leaders will receive $700/week for the duration of the 1-week camp.
Ferry Cost covered (travel to the ferry terminal not covered)
Activity Leaders will have room and board provided by Camp Cue
Dietary restrictions and allergies will be accommodated
Activity Leaders will be provided with the opportunity to participate in workshops.
